Deleted Scene: Tad’s Party Montage

With the DVD release (unofficially) only weeks away, I should be coming up with more deleted scenes to show here. To help move things along (and to get Emma back to her house a bit quicker), we recently revamped this sequence from Tad’s party midway through the movie. But even with the montage sequence in place of a few scenes, the party felt like it was running a bit too long, so we decided to cut this sequence out entirely. I think it was a good move, with the only downside that the song — “Mona Lee” by The Sweet Serenades — gets dropped entirely from the movie. However, the good news is I’m leaving it on the soundtrack since it’s so freaking awesome.

Film Festival Donation Drive

Hi all. I’m On Fire is a week or two away from (finally) being complete and with that, we’re gearing up for the film festival run and we’ve started this collection for anyone who would like to see the movie get in front of as many people as possible. All funds collected will go directly toward setting up a more official website and submitting the movie to more film festivals.

If you donate $25 or more, you will receive a DVD of the movie. $50 or more will get you a DVD and the CD soundtrack, and $100 or more will get you a DVD, a CD, a snazzy full-sized poster and some other goodies.

Thanks for supporting indie filmmaking and we’ll continue to update you on the festival status.

Random Scene: “Emma Leaves Home (Again)”

Here is a rough cut of the Big Emotional Climax from the movie. Luke (Ryan Stone) and Danielle (Tara Everhart) continue their argument about Emma (Vanessa Long), and Emma decides it’s not realistic to try and stick around any longer. The song is “Everybody Here is a Cloud” by Cloud Cult. We have a few edits to make (example: weird black flashes, huh?) but it’s mostly finished.
